| Happy Easter |
Dear Family and Friends,
Hey! Hey! Hey! How's it going everybody? What's new? If so, just let me know. It was great to hear from you all this week. It's the start of a new semester, and the last for this school year. Hey Spencer, keep it up, work hard, and have fun this last semester as a high school student cause it's the last one you'll get. Well, this week was absolutely wonderful. Elder Thorpe and I just had a blast, having so much fun, and getting the work done here in Puli.
This week the entire mission had some training on how we can better allow the Spirit to teach in our lessons. Yup, that training paid off! It was really good, and Elder Thorpe and I had quite a few experiences where the Spirit was absolutely strong throughout the lessons, and was the TRUE and ULTIMATE teacher. One in particular was with a man named Wang Ping Guo. I ran into him a few days beforehand, had actually sat with him once. We brought him to our church, gave him a tour, and the just began conversing with him. After he was comfortable with the everything we were able to find out what he absolutely needed at the time. Without going into too much, he has had lots of troubles and things in his life that just bring a lot of stress into his life and he just wishes that he could know how to handle each of them. The Spirit was super strong and was able to guide my companion and I on what to teach and preach. We shared with him Mosiah 4:9 which teaches us to believe in God. We were able to teach that God has all wisdom, and is willing to part us all with some of that knowledge, and that that knowledge comes from diligently prayer and search from the scriptures. He has humbled and as he prayed at the end, the Spirit was super super strong. This was a testimony builder for me that the Spirit is the true teacher. We were truly lead and guided through that lesson, and the other lessons we had this past week. Super great experience.
Other than that we have been able to work with a part-member family. We have been working with a 7 year old girl named Liu Pin Yu, cutest little girl you'll ever see! Since her parents aren't members, but her grandma is, we have been teaching her the lessons and she is just truly amazing, and adorable! We are looking forward to her baptism here in two weeks on April 6, which is a super great day to get baptized! We're excited about that.
Well, it was a great week! Had many learning experiences during my studies and out on the street preaching the gospel. One thing in particular that I learned was when Alma the Younger had his encounter with the angel of the Lord. He talks about how was redeemed of the Lord, and was born of the Spirit. He had a change of heart, was changed from a carnal state to a state of righteousness, and became a new creature. We, all like Alma, can become new, better people, having a change of heart because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. What a great feeling! Through Christ we can all become better than the person we were the day before. I'm grateful for that knowledge and know that it is true. I know Christ is indeed our Savior and Redeemer. I hope that you all can continue to have that motivation to change and become better than who you were the day before. I love you all and can't wait to hear from you all next week!
